The decision as to when your baptized child will receive communion rests with the parents and child, in consultation with the Rector. At Christ Church, we regularly offer a program of education for parents and children (usually aged 7-10) on why and how we are called to celebrate and live the Eucharist. this might be in preparation for first communion, or it may follow after the child has become a communicant. Parents who think this might be appropriate for their child should speak to the Rector.
